February Coffee Morning

Well, January came and went without a Coffee Morning making the calendar. So what do you say we try not to let that happen again in February?

With that in mind, the February edition of Coffee Morning is scheduled for this coming Friday, February 20th.

Details are as follows:

Date: Friday, February 20th
Time: 7:30 am - 9:30 am (you're welcome to show up any time in between)
Location: Java Downtown, 6th & Idaho, Boise ID

For those needing a refresher, Coffee Morning is a loosely organized event that gives folks (in this case) in the marketing and advertising industry a chance to get together and chat about whatever topics may come up. There is no formal agenda, no planned speakers or presentations. Just a chance to get together and chat.

December Coffee Morning

Yes, there will be a Coffee Morning this month. It's going to be on Friday, December 19th - same Bat-time, same Bat-channel. Or, in English:

Location: Java - 6th & Idaho, Boise, ID
Date: Friday, December 19th
Time: 7:30(ish) AM - 9:30(ish) AM

As usual, anyone and everyone is welcome. Topics of discussion vary from month to month, but there never seems to be a shortage.

No Coffee Morning This Month

Alas, the month of November will come and go without a Coffee Morning (well, at least not one that has been scheduled through here).

Given the schedule of the past few months, this month's Coffee Morning would have fallen either this Friday or next Friday. And since there isn't anything scheduled for this week, and next week will be the day after Thanksgiving, November is just shot.

So, what should we do? Try and schedule something on a Friday morning early in December? A different day of the week? I'm all ears. Leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments.

September Coffee Morning

Let's get this one on the calendar now, before another month slips away...

The September Coffee Morning will be Friday, September 19th.

Location is TBD at this point -- we may end up back at Java, or Coffee Morning could be going on the road again. That remains to be seen.

Coffee Morning Reminder and Location

Just a reminder that this month's Coffee Morning is coming up on this Friday morning, July 25th.

The new location for this month's gathering will be at Thomas Hammer on the corner of 8th and Bannock in downtown Boise.

I've heard from a few people that they will be in Sun Valley for the Idaho State Broadcaster's Association Annual Convention, but to those who aren't making the trip, you are welcome to join us for some coffee and conversation.

Coffee Morning - the July Edition

After falling by the wayside during June, Coffee Morning in Boise is once again poised to make a triumphant return. Okay, so maybe triumphant is a bit strong, but at least it’s back on the calendar.

The next Coffee Morning is scheduled for Friday, July 25th.

Location is TBD at this point. Java has worked okay as a central location for the past couple of events, but it might be time to mix things up a little. Also, there’s a chance that Coffee Morning will be going on the road – more details about that as they become available.

In the mean time be sure to save some time on your calendar -- 7:30am-ish until 9:00-ish. As always, questions or comments are always welcome.

No Coffee Morning This Month

Well, the better part of the month has gotten away from me without scheduling a Coffee Morning, and I really don't see it happening between now and the 4th of July. So, we'll scrap it for this month, and try again next month.

Coffee Morning in Boise

With a gracious tip of the hat to Russell Davies, I've finally gotten around to trying to put together a Coffee Morning in Boise.

What is a Coffee Morning, you ask? Well, in a nutshell, it's a loosely organized gathering, where people come together for coffee and conversation. There's no agendas, no presentations - just an opportunity for people to chat, share ideas, and learn from one another. The concept has spread all over the world, but until now, the closest one I've ever known about was in Portland, Oregon.

Let's change that.

I have no idea what kind of response or attendance we'll get, but we'll kick things off this Friday, April 4th, at Java on the corner of 6th and Main. I'll be there from 7:30 AM-ish - 9:00 AM-ish, so feel free to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee (or tea, or other drink of choice) and some conversation with others.

While I don't think this will become a weekly thing right away, I could see it happening at least once a month, if not every other week.
