First off, my apologies for the recent lack of new posts. Hey, life gets in the way sometimes...
I received an email from the Boise Advertising Federation recently, with some information on upcoming events, and thought I'd pass that information along:
Saturday April 7th: Rockie Awards.
The BAF's annual awards show is going to have a change of scenery this year, moving to the Doubletree Riverside. Dress is islander, business casual (whatever that means). Email Victor Obenauf for more information or to RSVP.
Friday April 20th: BAF Luncheon with guest speaker Bart Cleveland.
Doubletree Riverside.
Bart Cleveland is one of the principals at McKee Wallwork Cleveland in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and in addition to being published in Fortune and Advertising Age, Bart is a contributor to the Ad Age Small Agency Diary.
Thursday May 24th: BAF Luncheon with guest speaker Jim Copacino.
Doubletree Riverside.
Jim Copacino is co-founder of Copacino+Fujikado in Seattle, Washington, and will be presenting on the topic of "Big Ideas in a Not-So-Big Market."
There are a few other things happening with the BAF, and I'd encourage you to contact Victor Obenauf for more information.

Anonymous Comments
Are no longer an option.
When the Idaho Ad Agencies blog was first started, I didn't think much of allowing anonymous comments. I really didn't expect many comments period. That, however, has changed recently.
This is an idea that I've been toying around with for a while now, and a recent exchange in the comments of a post pretty well pushed the thought over the edge. Anyone is still able to leave a comment, however not under the "anonymous" moniker.
I'm willing to put my name behind my thoughts and comments. You can too.

New Hire at Oliver Russell
Seems to be a common headline lately.
Andrew Klein has joined Oliver Russell & Associates as an Account Coordinator. He joins the agency after working most recently for Watson Wyatt, a human resources consulting firm.
Congratulations Andrew.

Job Opening - Copywriter
I just stumbled upon this one -- there's an anonymous job opening on the Boise Craigslist for a Copywriter. I would, however, take the "minimally talented" part with a grain of salt.
And for the second time in a row, bonus points for a well written job description.

Rizen Creative in Boise has an opening for an Account Executive. The full job description can be found on both Creative Hotlist and the Boise Craigslist.
Bonus points for a well written job description, gentlemen.

New Hire at Oliver Russell
Oliver Russell & Associates in Boise has added Bryan Escobedo as a Senior Account Executive. Bryan joins the agency after working most recently for Duncan & Associates. If you recall, Oliver Russell's new Account Services Director also came from Duncan & Associates, so this should be a combination that will hit the ground running right away.
Congratulations Bryan.

This story too will get stale (eventually)
Yeah, I made the joke -- it was too easy. I couldn't help myself.
This River City Bagel ad is the still going strong around the blogosphere. First it was AdFreak. Then AdPulp. Now Adrants has picked it up.
Just for the hell of it, I may have to stop in their shop tomorrow morning and see how much shit they've gotten over the past week. With any luck they'll also fill me in on who originally designed the ad, although something tells me that silent7seven might be in the know. That "scan" looks an awful lot like original artwork, especially when compared to the finished version that ran in the Boise Weekly.

Well, that's a way to get attention
River City Bagels in Boise recently caught the attention of Tim Nudd over at AdFreak.
And yes, its true -- the ad really did run in the Boise Weekly this week. Pick up one and take a look for yourself.

A wander through Marketing Media Group
Or their website, at least. On occasion, I've been known to stop by various agency websites, look around, and see what's been happening. Recently, I took a look at Marketing Media Group.
Among the notable items, beyond the redesigned website itself:
Edward Moore bought out the other MMG partners, and is now the sole owner of the agency.
Michelle Travis, long time Account Executive, has left the shop and is now working outside of the agency world.
They've added several new faces in various roles.
Take some time to look around their site, and in particular the shop talk section. And to the folks over at MMG, well done.
